After The Silence was found in 2000 and brings melodic hardrock with sympho / progressive / classic Rockinfluences, and among others even a little part of Gothic, although the music of After The Silence doesn't contain classical voices and the singer doesn't wear black dresses at all. In fact the music of After The Silence contains so many different styles, so their music can't be reduced to one single musical style. That's why the music probably speaks up to many people from different population groups and different ages. The music mainly surprises many people “live” every time in a very positive way. A lot of people think they have to do with just another ” Gothic band, and when ATS starts to play it’s very obvious that the band is not.

In the beginning of 2003 ATS recorded some tracks in the rehearsalroom, and the tracks were added to a promo-cd (Weary Angels Heart), just with the first goal to get more gigs. However the disc was also picked up by several rock e-zines and received very positive reviews. The ball was set rolling and the promo-cd even got airplay on several local radiostations. Ernst van Ee (drummer Highway Chile) played some tracks in his radioprogramm “Come on feel the noise” at SWY-Radio and Kees Visser from Radio Westland did the same in his programm “Helemaal Goud” (Totally Gold).

That’s why the band recorded their first official 4-track mini-cd in the end of 2003, called “Final Fantasy”, which became released in 2004. The cd was recorded / mixed at the Plug Unit Studio in Reeuwijk (with among others co-producing from Edwin Den Haag - bassplayer Highway Chile) and became mastered by Peter Brussee from Q-point, Hilversum (also responsible for cd-mastering from for example Ayreon, Kane etc.).

The cd got very positive reviews in among others Music Maker, Lords of Metal, Metalfan.nl, Headache Magazine etc., etc. (reviews can be found at the ATS website) and it also caused some radio-interviews and –shows for the band, like again at Kees Visser’s “Helemaal Goud” and the programm “Live-A-Live” at WOS Radio.

In july 2005 ATS broke up with 3 bandmembers. Through ads, auditions, etc. ATS became complete again in the beginning of 2006. Mainly recruiting a double bass drummer (which the former drummer wasn’t) brings the ATS musical sound to a much higher level.

In december 2007 keyboardplayer Erik Slooten left ATS due to personal reasons. Meanwhile ex-ATS keyboardplayer Joop de Rooij performed on stage with ATS again temporarily during gigs which were planned already.

In october 2008 bassplayer Daniel left the band because he wanted to play punk music. In december 2008 Daniel was replaced by bassplayer Hans van Iersel (he played in bands like: Scarlet (covers like Metallica etc.), Agent orange (bay-area speed/thrashmetal), Malfunction (complex speedmetal), Inquisitor (extreme thrashmetal) and Concrete garden).

After a very long search for a new keyboardplayer for about one year and a half, the line up of After The Silence is complete again at last in august 2009 by the arrival of Eddie van den Boogaard. Eddie is active in music since he was a little boy. The last 12 years Eddie has been a bendmember of Cloudbreak.

In the meantime the band shared their stage with acts like for example Corpse Candle, Xerpentor, Flesh Made Sin, Pluis & de Struikrovers, Zone, Sanity, Moneypower, Wastelands, Purple Rainbow, the american progrock band “All Too Human”, the Dutch Gothic band “DELAIN” (from ex-Within Temptation keyboardplayer Martijn Westerholt), Icaros, Cutting Daisy, Antubis, Lágrima, Calibern and many others.
