Final Fantasy (official studio MCD) Review Strutter Magazine March 2004 - Score: 8.0/10 By: Gabor Kleinbloesem The Dutch band AFTER THE SILENCE went into the studio and recorded a professional mini-CD titled "Final Fantasy". The CD contains 4 tracks and it sounds indeed quite professional this time. The production is very good (with help from HIGHWAY CHILE bassist Edwin den Haag), and now we can also hear that AFTER THE SILENCE is a very good band. The music is clearly 80's influenced AOR / Melodic Rock, and sometimes it sounds a lot like the Swedish newcomerbands ALYSON AVENUE and COASTLINE. The band has a good female singer called Ingrid van den Hof - van den Berg and instrumental back-up comes in the shape of a keyboardplayer, 2 guitarists, a bassist and a drummer. The 6-member line-up of AFTER THE SILENCE have come up with a very good quality AOR / Melodic Rock mini-CD, which will please fans of LOAS, VIXEN, HEART, COASTLINE, ALYSON AVENUE etc. Highlights are uptempo AOR / Melodic Rockers "Final Fantasy" (opener) and "Resurrection" (closing track).
