Final Fantasy (official studio MCD) Review Music Maker May 2004 - Score: Heading: De Keuze (The Choice) ( 3rd cd selected from 20 cd's) By: Marguerite Melchers After The Silence makes melodic hardrock and does this not entire without merit. The biography teaches us that the bandmembers all had already something on their musical records before they started with After The Silence. Their debut mini-cd "Final Fantasy" contains four tracks, which are musical managed very well. The sound is crystal-clear and was recorded fine. There is clearly paid much attention to the recordings and the mix, the production was in the hands of among others John Radersma and René Speksnijder. After The Silence-singer Ingrid is absolutely someone of great talents. Certainly in the more rock-directed songs her voice shows to full advantage. Still I have this feeling that there is something missing. Everyting just isn't one and all yet. The songs may get more tension, for example. But then: when you see "Final Fantasy" as a foundation for what is yet to come, than the band can become much further. Because after silence at least comes..... source: Music Maker » |
