Final Fantasy (official studio MCD)

Review Forever Underground February 2005 - Score: 8,5

After the silence is a melodic Hardrock/Metalband with symphonic-, classical- and progressive Rock influences. With "Final Fantasy" the band has recorded their first real minicd. The cd contains 4 very solid tracks. The sound of this cd is also very qualified. The cd was recorded at the Plug Unit Studio in Reeuwijk.

The cd starts out with the track "Final Fantasy", a nice progressive song in which the middle part mainly does attract attention, an accoustic part which contains a very beautiful solo. Personally I think this is the best song on the cd. The second track is "Weary angels heart", which more turns out in a symphonic style.
Track 3 is called "C'est la vie", which is the most quiet song of this minicd. The cd closes with the track "Resurrection". This song starts with a synth intro and than turns out to a very nice up-tempo song. This song will do very good "live" on stage. There's also a grunt-part in this song.

"Final Fantasy" has become a very qualified cd. When you ask me if it's possible to compare this band to another one? It really doesn't occure to me. So if you are more into symphonic-,classical- and progressive Rock, than check out the website of After the Silence
